The site, in fifteen palettes
This page is for you, and it is not linked from the menu or the footer — you reach it by its address. It shows the same site in fifteen directions, one beneath another, so a palette can be chosen from the real thing rather than from a colour chart.
Each block below renders the institute’s own furniture: the stacked wordmark with its glow, the standing line beneath it, a section heading, a paragraph of body text, a gold button and a card with a photograph, a title and a line. Nothing on this page changes the site — it is here so a direction can be looked at, not so it can be applied by tapping something.
There are two directions here. The first five are the light set. The ten beneath are the deep set: a genuinely deep, regal, saturated ground in every one, dark enough that a photograph laid on it reads clearly instead of being washed out by a bright surround. Each deep ground is paired with light warm text, and the contrast is checked rather than assumed.
The palette the site is wearing now is Royal Navy & Old Gold, and its block is marked as such. Tell me which you want and I will set the whole site to it.
