Nine people of many backgrounds studying old books together at a candlelit table in the institute library

Institute of Mysticism, Magick & the Psychic Arts · By enrollment & by application

Taught plainly.
Carried further.

A school for the old arts, an apothecary of what it works with, and a private practice beside it. Six areas of study taught in small, capped rooms — mysticism, magick, herbalism, potions, stones, and psychic awareness. For a select few, a white-glove program that does not stop at teaching: it does the footwork.

All are welcome to study. Only some are invited further.

The company you keep

An institute, not an audience

The people who study here come from everywhere and bring everything with them — different trades, different faiths, different reasons for walking in. A nurse and a contractor, a trader and a barber, a young mother and a nineteen-year-old who has read everything and tried none of it. What they hold in common is that they intend to go further than they have.

Rooms are kept small so the work stays real, and the doors that open afterward — mentorship, the working shelves, the private program — open for the people who were in the room.

Five doors

One institute, five ways in

Each part feeds the others. What is taught in a class is bought from the shelf; what is bought from the shelf is worked through in a class; and the private program takes the whole of it further. None of them is the side door.

The Member Program

Alongside its teaching, the institute keeps a small private practice. A limited number of members are accepted into a white-glove mentorship built around a one-million-dollar credit and asset acquisition program — the education and the methods for opening and building a business, establishing credit accounts, and acquiring land, residential property and other assets.

It is not a course you buy and complete. We take on the majority of the footwork ourselves — the building, the forming, the locating, the long unglamorous labor — and we teach the method as it is carried out, so that the understanding stays with the member.

There is no definitive timeframe, because every member’s situation differs. What we provide is the position and the method; what the member holds afterward is theirs to pursue, whatever unforeseen events arise.

  • Opening and building a business

The entity, the record, the accounts, the trade.

  • Establishing credit accounts

Real standing, built deliberately rather than scored.

  • Land and residential property

Located, evaluated and acquired — most of it by us.

  • The wider catalogue of assets

What else a member may hold, and how it is kept.

  • One member at a time

    Accepted individually, never in cohorts.

  • Kept private

Never published, discussed, or used as marketing.

Areas of study

Six crafts, one practice

Every class falls into one of six areas. You may begin in any of them — most people begin with herbalism or stones, and find the rest follow.

All classes & the schedule→
01

Mysticism

The contemplative traditions — prayer, silence, ascent, and union.

02

Magick

Both the baneful and the blessing hand: cleansing, binding, protection, drawing.

03

Herbalism

Which plant for which working, how it is cut, dried, and kept.

04

Potions & Oils

Infusions, tinctures, anointing oils, and the timing of a working.

05

Stones & Crystals

Choosing, cleansing, charging, and pairing a stone with a purpose.

06

Psychic Awareness

Quieting the noise so that what is already there can be heard.

The apothecary

What we use ourselves

Herbs cut and dried in small batches, oils sealed by hand, stones chosen at the source and cleansed, and rare books of magick that pass through only once. Each shelf has its own page, listed A to Z with every property written out — what the material does, and what it has been used for.

Behind the classes

A member’s standing opens four things that are not sold at the door: the members’ room, the library of practice editions, the institute’s own grimoire, and the sound room the hours are kept by.

The room is kept small on purpose and quiet by rule. What is taught in it is not taught anywhere else, and nothing about a member’s participation is ever published.

The institute

A school, not a spectacle

The Furthering Institute exists to teach the old arts without theatrics and without gatekeeping. No experience is required to begin, and no one is asked to perform belief they do not hold. We teach the practice, the material, and the reasoning behind both — and the student decides what to make of it.

Classes are kept small on purpose. Materials are the ones we use ourselves, and the shelves exist largely because students kept asking where to find them. The member program runs alongside the teaching for those who want the work carried further than the classroom.

Reverent, not superstitious. Practical, not cynical.

The community

Words from the room

We would rather print what students actually say than dress up a compliment. These are theirs, in their own words.

The invitation

Come and see whether it suits you

You do not have to believe anything to walk in. Enroll in a class and the room will tell you. Apply to the member program and we will tell you plainly whether we can help. Either way, nothing is asked of you but honesty about where you are starting from.
