The desk
The News
Four standing categories, kept the way a news desk keeps them: a headline, a short summary, the source it came from, and the date it ran. Nothing is reprinted here that belongs to somebody else — each entry names its outlet and points to the full story.
The desk is read the way the institute reads everything else: for the record rather than for the noise. Where a story touches on property, credit, the trades, or the public filing of things that were not meant to be public, it is kept here.
What belongs where
The four desks
Every entry on this page is filed under one of four headings. These are what each one is kept for.
Art News
The trade in works and in specimens — what is being shown, what is being found, and what the record behind a piece is worth.
Paranormal News
Unexplained phenomena in the public record: the releases, the reports, and the reading of anomalous images and accounts.
Crime News
Cases, courts and the paperwork of an investigation, including the cold cases that return to attention years later.
Political News
The decisions that touch on property, credit and the trades — the text of a measure, and the record of a vote.
The four categories
Choose a desk
Each category carries its own feed, with the source and the date on every entry.
The record is the point. Everything else is commentary.
